We can all deny it, however we want. But it can be a real bummer not to have someone on Valentines Day. Just seeing those numerous roses, chocolates, happy smiles, kissing couples are enough to get you barfing the whole day.
So why not grab a million sappy romance movies, a huge box of popcorn and every unhealthy food you can think of, clear a space in your sofa and just spend the whole day there?
Just kidding.
There are plenty ways to get you through the whole day – after all, it is just 24 hours.
Being single isn’t so bad, you know, and being single on Valentines Day isn’t death – yes – it’s true. So don’t hide inside your house all day, here are some ways to spend Valentines Day as a single:
1. What better way to spend Valentines Day than go out clubbing? Come’on! You’re single, beautiful or handsome or whatever you want to believe (kidding) and if there’s an advantage in being single, this is it! Go out, wear you sexy, glam dress and shake your booty out there! Then when you meet someone, flirt! Wear that sexy smile the whole night, and you never know, Valentines Day just might be more romantic the next year.
2. Spend it with your gal pals or buddies. Go out to the mall, sass couples, make fun of those without anyone. It may be mean, but hey, at least you’re having fun right? Get dinner together and watch scary movies at the cinema, then eat where there is karaoke. What better to do with your aching heart than sing it out with one of the Beatles’ songs?
3. Go mountain climbing! Yey! Of course, there’s just no better day to do some mountain climbing. With adrenaline rush, will you still be able to think of being single? And yes, there probably wouldn’t be any couples there to piss you off (unless the workers there are dating).
4. Go on an out of town trip with your friends. Go swimming or scuba diving, or bungee jumping. Try surfing and then when night closes off, go to a concert with your friends.
5. The most probably you wouldn’t want to do, but hey, we’ll include it in the list because sure enough, it will take your mind off the lavapalooza day: do some work. Work yourself off, do some transcribing or writing or whatever work you have. If you don’t have work, search the internet for work and if you’re not working yet, do a project or an assignment. Well, whoopee about that.
One important thing you must always remember: being single is not a curse. It may mean you’re not with the “one” right now, but it doesn’t mean you won’t meet him. So while you haven’t met the “one” get to know yourself better. Make yourself become the best that you can, live your life to the fullest, experience everything you should be experiencing.
You’ll meet the right one when you’re ready and when that time comes, you won’t have to worry about the next Valentines Day being lonely.
