Why is it that I can’t let you go

With just a word you take me with you

I hate you for hanging me on a thread

I hate you for hurting me.

Yet somehow I can’t blame it all on you

I promised myself I wouldn’t give much

Still with a kiss taking more than what I give

Now I’m left with what I had begun with.

Weak and dumb I am now

Because of you I’m lost

Let me go, please give back what you took

So that I may finally go.

I want to go, want to fly

I need myself back for I can’t breathe no more

Walls closing in and you’re not there

Stop dangling me cause I’m not yours.

Am I not? I ask again
