What’s Hot: Blake Lively

Posted by Biyachessa On November - 4 - 2009

Although I prefer Queen B over Queen S any day, I believe Queen S wins over this fashion contest.

If you had a face like Blake Lively, what would you do?

Damn this girl is super HOT just like this dress she wore in the 2009 Emmy Awards.

Gorgeous and elegant

The plunging neckline and the long braid at the back gives her one very classic but elegant look. The red Versace gown matched with Lorraine Schwartz accessories and Christian Louboutin heels gave one of our favorite Gossip Girl star the ultimate sizzling look.

Elegant, beauty, sexiness = Blake Lively

What’s Hot?

Posted by Biyachessa On January - 7 - 2009

So. What’s hot girls? It’s 2009 and everything’s changing. Fashion has never been consistent itself. Let me tell you about this fashion trend that is totally IN right now.

Of course! You guessed right!

Gossip Girl!

Fooled you. Of course not. We’re not here to wonder about what we don’t have. Anyway, back to the topic. What’s hot this new year?

What else?

It’s our Gossip Girl Blair Waldorf’s multi-colored tights. Yes, genius, I know I said we’re not here to talk about what we don’t have. But who say’s we can’t have these tights as well? it might not be freezing cold here, but we’re still alive right?

And I say, these tights totally rock!

Wear with short shorts, or under skirts, or under a short dress. These tights can brighten up what you wear!

These tights can be bought offline, in S.M, Sta.Lucia East Grand Mall for the price of 350php. Of course, may brand. These can be bought online (from me) for the low price of only 250php. Get yours now!

Colors available are green, purple, yellow, pink, blue and gray.

How to choose the right color for you:

Red: will look good on fair girls. Red is a really bright color so only wear it with colors that will not go against the color. Wear with black or light yellow or cream. Somehow, when you wear white with red, you can tend to look like Santa. And yes, that’s kind of a bad thing.

Blue: that depends, light blue, dark blue? If you have a light blue colored tights and you’re planning on wearing it with something short, like mini dresses, skirts, make sure you have a nice butt. Because when you wear blue, it tends to eat up your behind and if you don’t have one, blue will only make you look thinner. Wear blue with denim, or with purple, white, black and yellow colors. Avoid wearing with anything pink. You don’t want to go out looking like MMDA would you? (no offense)

Yellow: again, not for the skinny girls. And fair ladies must also avoid yellow tights. They wouldn’t want to look like Mother Sun would they?

Pink: light pink tights will look good on morenas while bright pink will look okay on fair gals. Darker skinned beauties, social suicide. Don’t even try.

Purple: funky color. This color actually depends on the wearer. People notice purple. So if you can handle the attention, why not?

Green: the most sophisticated color tights there is. We mean green green okay? Not the neon ones. For young looking gals.

Gray: will look good on anyone. AT NIGHT. This must always be remembered. Better worn at night because gray can tend to look like silver and looks really good on anyone at night. Daytime, will look boring because it seems like black to everyone.

Choose well gals. Owning all colors may be just out of our budget.

The Fashion Biyach: What’s Smokin’; and What’s Burnin’

Posted by Biyachessa On December - 14 - 2008

The Fashion Biyach, December 08

What’s the Fashion Biyach?
These are articles filled with fashion tips, fashion do’s and don’ts, fashion criticisms by the Biyachessa. These tips are mainly an opinion and are NOT meant to hurt anyone, insult anyone or create trouble. These articles are written for fun and by request only. All comments, suggestions and tips are based on the Biyachessa’s opinion and opinions of recruited and selected people. Such people will not be mentioned unless requested. All fashion advice are meant for the Philippines only, mainly in Rizal and in Manila as this is where the Biyachessa resides. Again, these articles are NOT meant to hurt anyone or insult anyone.
Smokin’ are the hot tips, the good things to wear, the beautiful and the gorgeous.
Burnin’ are the NOTs. They are not hot, not cool and fashion burning should be in flames. And I mean literally.

What’s smokin’ and what’s burnin’

In 2008 a lot of new fashion came into trend. Unlike, the U.S or other countries for that matter, we cannot adapt as easily to their sense of fashion because let’s face it. We’re not the rich kids. Nor are we the ones freezing in cold weather.
In the 2nd half of the year, Philippines took a deeper dive into the fashion industry with a Philippine version of Project Runway which is an American reality T.V show hosted by the gorgeous Heidi Klum. Honestly, that show is brutal. And the “who’s in and who’s out part?” That doesn’t sound cool. I mean it. Heidi Klum is gorgeous and all but when she says that, I can’t help wince and feel embarrassed for her. Can’t they create a better slogan? Geez.
Anyway, the Philippine Project Runway is hosted by Teresa Herrera and you can watch it on ETC. Although each episode airs twice, you’ll be patient enough at the interest of finding out how our Philippine version is doing. On my opinion, it was okay. And the winner, Aries Lagat deserved it with a collection of totally out of this world outfits that seemed to have life of its own. So what if the fashion industry for the so-called rich people in this country have risen to a next new level? Does that mean everyone gets to do the same? No. Of course not. Like I said, we’re not such a rich country. So we have to accept that and be proud and make better what we already have. So let’s check it out: the smokin’ and burning’ of October-December, 08

What’s smokin’ and what’s burnin’?

Really, you don’t know? Man, you’re a hermit. Kidding! Of course! That’s what you’re reading this for!
Plaid tops polos:

Let’s make it clear shall we? We mean polos not all kinds of tops. Okay, some tops are okay. But not all tops can make the plaid cut. Some are really, really disturbing. The plaid overtop shown below has a nice design. But the plaid design and the thin fabric make it look like just cut from a table cloth. That’s a big BURN. Taylor Momsen wore this hot top at a Gossip Girl Episode. At first I thought she looked hot and I wanted her top so bad I racked Multiply all night for plaid tops. Until, finally I came to a site that had a similar cut design and I realized that maybe that design was just not cut out for some people (of course, what I mean by some people is us), people living in the heat and under work pressure and economy pressures and all that. I then came to a conclusion that I was right. That top, looked like an over coat for an under temperature country like ours. Except for the fact that it’s sleeveless, the person wearing it would be perspiring her ass off. If the cloth wasn’t thick though, it would look like just another top cut out from a table cloth. Nuh-uh. Burnin’!

So of course, there are the good stuff too. If you’ve already bought tops similar or like these, don’t worry. We’ve a save for you.
The first top, as thin as that, well, it would be better worn at night. Wear with a light top, and make sure you fatten yourself up a bit before you wear it. That would make the thin fabric look a little less table cloth when you’re in the middle of the dance floor. The Taylor Momsen top would be a save by the right person. This person must have the guts to carry out an outfit like that. Wear with skinny jeans or leggings and top it with a simple necklace and bangles. At least, you wouldn’t look like a trying hard git in the middle of Manila.

There’s another fashion faux pas that I’m totally bugged about.
Actually, I’ve been making fun of every single person I’ve seen wearing it.

Drum roll please:

Duh? Do I even have to elaborate why this fashion faux pas should be burning right now? This is Manila. We’re in a hot country, right near the equator of the earth. We never have temperature that goes any lower than 5 and that includes Baguio! So what’s with the scarves? Yeah, okay, the Hollywood people wear it, people in Japan wear it. But don’t you look a little bit ridiculous? Yes, you do. And don’t tell me you’re a rocker and all that bull. Even a rocker could do better than scarves. Scarves are for people in the cold. It’s for warming up the neck, for goodness sakes. And although it may look fashionable, it looks downright ridiculous in the middle of a commute down Cubao.

So that’s it guys. What’s smokin’ and burnin’ for this season. Well, the first part anyway. Remember people, plaid polos are smokin’ hot and incredibly cool whilst scarves are totally burnin’ and should be left and forgotten… at least until the Philippines freezes.
