I watched as the leaves from the trees fell
One by one, letting go,
One by one, falling into their doom.
Sometimes I wonder, whose fault it was
Was it the tree’s fault
For letting the leaf go?
Or was it the leaf that didn’t hold on tight?
Maybe, it was the wind that
Blew the leaf away.
So why did it let go?
Why didn’t the leaf hold tight?
Why did the wind blow the leaf away?
Sometimes, I wonder.
And then I realized,
As spring started to bloom
New leaves began to grow
It was then I realized.
Sometimes, it is better to let go
To receive the better and the right.
Sometimes it is better not to hold on tight
So not to hurt so much.
And it is better to move on
To wait forever for nothing.
One by one, letting go,
One by one, falling into their doom.
Sometimes I wonder, whose fault it was
Was it the tree’s fault
For letting the leaf go?
Or was it the leaf that didn’t hold on tight?
Maybe, it was the wind that
Blew the leaf away.
So why did it let go?
Why didn’t the leaf hold tight?
Why did the wind blow the leaf away?
Sometimes, I wonder.
And then I realized,
As spring started to bloom
New leaves began to grow
It was then I realized.
Sometimes, it is better to let go
To receive the better and the right.
Sometimes it is better not to hold on tight
So not to hurt so much.
And it is better to move on
To wait forever for nothing.
